I'd like to report excellent service from the Nikon service department.  I bought a new lens that in my opinion was not focusing correctly.  I contacted Nikon support and they had me send in a series of test shots under different conditions.  The conclusion was that the lens needed repair.  I sent it in and got it back in less than a week.  Great customer support and great service.  It pays to deal with reputable companies.
